Kum midyesi (Chamelea gallina L., 1753) örneklerinden ise V. parahaemolyticus izole edilmedi.İzole edilen toplam 57 V. parahaemolyticus izolatının 21’i (% 36.8) Kanagawa Fenomeni (KP) pozitif, % 7’si (% 12.2) ürehidroliz testi (UH) pozitif bulundu. Sonuç olarak, çift kabuklu yumuşakçalardan sağlanan V. parahaemolyticus izolatlarının insansağlığı yönünden riskli olabileceği anlaşılmıştır.

Isolation of Vibrio parahaemolyticus from bivalve molluscs

Öz:
A total of 1330 samples of live bivalve molluscs that come to the Bornova Veterinary Control and Research Institutebetween 2004–2009 were analysed according to TS ISO/ 8914. The isolation rate of Vibrio parahaemolyticus was 4.28 % inbivalve molluscs tested. The isolation rate of the organism in bivalve molluscs were as follows; 8.65 % in oysters (Ostrea edulis,L. 1758), 8.92 % in wedge shells (Donax trunculus, L. 1758), 2.94 % in cockles (Venus verrucosa, L. 1758), 2.71 % in carpetshell clams (Tapes decussatus L. 1758), 1.93 % in bearded mussels (Modiolus barbatus, L. 1758) and 1.90 % in Mediterraneanmussels (Mytilus galloprovincialis, L. 1819). V. parahaemolyticus was not isolated in striped Venus (Chamelea gallina L., 1753).Out of the 57 V. parahaemolyticus isolates, 21 (36.8 %) were found to be positive for Kanagawa Phenomenon (KP) and 7 (12.2%) for urea hydrolysis (UH). As a result, we concluded that V. parahaemolyticus isolates from bivalve molluscs which weobtained may pose a risk for human health.
