Antenatal sonographic diagnosis of diffuse cavernous hemangioma of the uterus

Öz:

Uterusun kavernöz hemanjiyomu, endometriyal polip veya myomabenzeyen bir kitle şeklinde ortaya çıkabileceği gibi (lokalize tip),uterus duvarında normal myometriumun yerini alan geniş vaskulerboşluklar şeklinde de (diffüz tip) görülebilir. Genellikleasemptomatiktir, ancak jinekolojik pratikte menometroraji veinfertilite şeklinde, obstetrik hastalarda ise intrapartum veyapostpartum kanama ya da tromboembolizm şeklinde ortaya çıkabilir.Diffüz kavernöz hemanjiyom, türbülan akım içeren kavernözboşluklarla dolu kalınlaşmış uterus duvarı görüntüsüyle, rutinantenatal ultrasonografi incelemesi sırasında nadiren saptanabilir.Fetusta ağır gelişme geriliği olan, sezaryen sırasında ve sonrasındahemorajik komplikasyon gelişmeyen ve antenatal dönemde tanısıkoyulan bir diffüz kavernöz hemanjiyom olgusu sunmaktayız.

Öz:

Cavernous hemangioma of the uterus may be either localizedpresenting as an endometrial polyp or a uterine mass mimickingmyoma, or as a diffuse mass in which most of the uterine wall iscomposed of enlarged vascular spaces replacing the normalmyometrium. It is usually asymptomatic, but can present withmenometrorrhagia and infertility in gynecological practice, andintra or postpartum bleeding or thromboembolism in obstetricpatients. Diffuse cavernous hemangioma can be seldom, identifiedduring routine antenatal ultrasonographic examination as thethickened uterine wall composed of cavernous fluid-filled spaceswith turbulent flow. We present an antenatally diagnosed case ofdiffuse cavernous hemangioma in which the fetus was severelygrowth-restricted. Caesarean section was performed successfullywithout any intra or postpartum hemorrhage.
