Öz:

İSTATİSTİKSEL ANALİZ İstatistiksel analiz için SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Sciences, version 18.0) programı kullanıldı. Kolmogorov-Smirnov testi ile örneklem dağılımı- nın normal dağılım gösterdiği saptandıktan sonra, her bir grupta gözler arasındaki fark bağımlı ör- neklem t-testi ile gruplar arasındaki fark ise ba- ğımsız örneklem t-testi ile değerlendirildi. P değerinin 0,05'in altında olması istatistiksel olarak anlamlı kabul edildi

In pseudoexfoliation syndrome Evaluation of Corneal Parameters with "Pentacam-Scheimpflug"

Öz:

To compare the corneal parameters in cases with unilateral pseudoexfo- liative syndrome with the contralateral eyes and control group with using high resolution Pen- tacam-Scheimpflug system (Pentacam HR). MMaatteerriiaall aanndd MMeetthhooddss:: Two groups of eyes-50 eyes of 25 individuals with unilateral pseudoexfoliative syndrome as a study group and 60 eyes of 30 in- dividuals without pseudoexfoliative syndrome as a control group-formed the sample for this prospective, observational study. Anterior and posterior mean keratometry (Km) values, central corneal thickness (CCT), corneal volume, and corneal diameter measurements were recorded. The mean differences in corneal parameters between eyes of each group were calculated and the changes in corneal parameters were compared between groups. RReessuullttss:: In study group, while the CCT, corneal volume, and Km posterior values were significantly higher in eyes with pseudoex- foliative syndrome than those of the other eyes (p= 0.001, P = 0.014, P = 0.004), anterior Km and corneal diameter measurements were not significant (p= 0.699, p= 0.062). There were no signifi- cant differences in terms of corneal parameters between right and left eyes of control group (p> 0.05, for all). When the groups were compared in terms of difference in corneal parameters between eyes, only the difference in CCT and corneal volume were significantly higher in study group than those of control group (p= 0.001, p= 0.005). CCoonncclluussiioonn:: In individuals with unilateral PES, CCT and corneal volume were higher than controls. The change in Km posterior was signi- ficantly higher in eyes with PES, but it was not significant when the difference between eyes were compared between groups
