Dolphin Painter whose career started by the Transitional Period and continued throughout Early Corinthian (630-600/590 B.C.) was one of the proliferous artists who worked in the Corinthian pottery industry. The painter mostly painted alabastra except a few aryballoi with ring food and preferred to draw confronting lions and cocks. After a summary of the Dolphin Painter’s style, the article concentrates on an unpublished Early Corinthian alabastron, a grave offering, unearthed in a necropolis located in Hüsamlar Village near Milas which most likely belongs to the one of the rural settlements of Keramos in coastal Caria. With its decoration pattern, the alabastron presents the characteristic characteristic depictions of the painters' cocks with their heads, necks, wattles and wing bar. The second part of the article was devoted to the sites in the western Anatolia and some off shore islands which yielded painters’ works, some of which were unpublished such as those coming from Ephesos Artemision. Thereafter, a body fragment of an alabastron found in the sanctuary of Athena in Pedasa, a Lelegian settlement settled in the Halicarnassian Peninsula, and interpreted as a close follower of Dolphin Painter’s was evaluated. Besides, it was suggested that the cock alabastra kept in the Kelvingrove Collection in Glasgow and Museo Internazionale delle Ceramiche in Faenza and found in Hephaistia (Lemnos), all previously published, should be included in his oeuvre.
