1. Second Life in Education in Turkey: A Methodological Review Research

This study aimed to examine the educational studies methodologically using the Second Life application in Turkey. In the study conducted with the qualitative research paradigm, the document review method was used. The studies were analyzed with descriptive analysis technique. According to the findings, it was revealed that qualitative studies as research philosophy and case studies as research design were mostly adopted in the studies. In those studies, undergraduate students as the study group and questionnaire and interview techniques as data collection methods were mostly preferred, and the content analysis technique was used mostly for data analysis. Moreover, in those studies, the purposive sampling technique was mostly used. Most of the studies examined reached their aims and most of their results were positive.

2. Examining usability of the six thinking hats technique in playwriting education: Turkey as a case study

Efforts to define creativity have started in the 20th century, with the emergence and spread of psychology as a modern discipline. The relationship between creativity and art education is frequently researched globally in the last twenty years, but studies on the relationship between creativity and performing arts education are few in number. Researching the relationship between creativity and dramatic writing education in context of theoretical approaches and practical techniques could develop new ideas and practical tools to be used. The current study aims to examine the usability of the Six Thinking Hats Technique, which is a creative thinking practice, in playwriting education in Turkey. The method of the study is based on a review of available literature and a case study. First, the creativity concept and creative processes were examined; then the Six Thinking Hats Technique was adopted to be implemented in composing a play-text. The study groups consisted of eight sophomore dramatic writing students who have completed their third semester in a public university in Turkey. Lastly, the participant’s opinions were analyzed with a final test. The study concludes that the Six Thinking Hats Technique can be used in group studies, genre determination and final production in playwriting education in Turkey. This technique may also be used to develop new ideas and practice strategies in intra-class group activities during playwriting education.

3. FELSEFE DERSİNDE ALTI ŞAPKALI DÜŞÜNME TEKNİĞİ’NE DAYALI ETKİNLİKLERİN YARATICILIK, ELEŞTİREL DÜŞÜNME VE AKADEMİK ÖZ YETERLİĞE ETKİSİ

Araştırmada, Felsefe dersinde Altı Şapkalı Düşünme Tekniği’ne dayalı öğretim etkinliklerinin öğrencilerin yaratıcılık, eleştirel düşünme ve akademik öz yeterliğe etkisini incelemek amaçlanmıştır. Ön test-son test deney ve kontrol gruplu yarı deneysel modelle yapılan araştırmanın çalışma grubu, Erzincan ilindeki bir okulda, 11. sınıfta öğrenim gören 40 lise öğrencisinden oluşmaktadır. İki grupta uygulama yapılmadan önce gruplar AGNO ve ön test puanları bakımından denkleştirilmiştir. Araştırmanın uygulama süreci 8 haftadır. Araştırmada “Torrance Yaratıcı Düşünme Testi” sözel formları; “Eleştirel Düşünme Eğilimi Ölçeği” ve “Akademik Öz Yeterlilik Ölçeği” kullanılmıştır. Çalışma gruplarının grup içi karşılaştırmalarda Willcoxon İşaretli Sıralar Testi ve gruplar arası karşılaştırmalarda Mann Whitney U testi kullanılmıştır. Araştırma sonuçlarına göre, Altı Şapkalı Düşünme Tekniği ile yürütülen uygulamalar lise öğrencilerinin yaratıcı düşünme, eleştirel düşünme ve akademik öz yeterliliklerini olumlu yönde etkilemektedir.
