Sosyal Temsil Kuramına Genel Bir Bakış

Öz:

Sosyal temsillerin bir topluluğa ait bireylerin gündelik konuşma ve eylemleri sırasında birlikte yapılandırdıkları sosyal bir olgu olduğu yaygın bir görüştür. Temel olarak sosyal temsiller bireyin dünyayı anlama ihtiyacını karşılamak için ortaya çıkmaktadırlar. Bütün temsillerin amacı tanıdık olmayanı tanıdık yapmaktır. Bilginin sosyal biçimleri olan sosyal temsiller aracılığıyla soyut ve anlaşılmaz kavramsal ifadeler daha anlaşılabilir hale dönüşürler. Fakat toplumsal gerçekliği bu şekilde ele alış tarzı yeni değildir. Hiç şüphe yok ki bu alanda en popular görüş olan Moscovici’nin gürüşü de Durkheim’in kolektif temsiller görüşünden uyarlanmıştır. Buna rağmen, Moscovici, Durkheim’in ilgilendiğini ifade ettiği geniş inanç sistemleri olan bilim, din ve mitlerden ziyade, daha sınırlı ve daha az statik olan ortak görüşlerle ilgilenmiştir. Sosyal temsil çalışmaları bir taraftan büyük ölçekli sosyal süreçleri, diğer taraftan temel psikolojik mekanizmaları ve bu ikisi arasındaki ilişkileri incelemeyi amaçlamaktadır.

A General Approach to the Social Representation Theory

Öz:

It is a common view that social representations are social facts constituted together by the members of a given society within their everyday language and actions. They are basically created to meet the individuals’ need for conceiving the world in which they are living. The main reason for the creation of social representations is to make unfamiliar social facts the familiar ones. They are some kinds of social knowledge that makes it easier to understand the most complex and abstract concepts encountered in everyday life span. However, this way of understanding of social reality is not a novel one. There is no doubt that Moscovici’s approach towards social representations, which is the most popular one in the area, is borrowed from Durkheim’s conception of collective representations. Despite this Moscovici was interested in more delimited and less static sets of shared ideas than the vast belief systems, science, religion, myth that interested Durkheim. The study of social representations holds out promises to examine, on the one hand, large-scale social processes, on the other, fundamental psychological mechanisms, as well as the relations between those two.
