Öz:

Seslerin büyük bir bölümü oral kavitenin ön bölgesinde oluşmaktadır. Ortodontistler ve konuşma uzmanları yıllardır konuşma bozukluğu ile hem çeneler arası hem de dental malok-lüzyonlar arasındaki ilişkiyi çözebilmek için ororarengeal mekanizmanın fizyolojisini araştırmaktadır. Bu derlemenin amacı konuşma ve ortodonti arasındaki ilişki konusunda bilgi sunmaktır. (Türk Ortodonti Dergisi 2011;24:74-80)

The relationship between speech disorders and orthodontic abnormalities

Öz:

Most of specific speech movements are made in the anterior part of the mouth. The orthodontists and speech specialists have long been interested in the physiology of the oropharyngeal mechanism to understand the relationship between speech defects and malocclusions. The aim of this review is to present information about the relationship between speech disorders and orthodontic abnormalities. (Turkish I Orthod 2011,24:74-80)
