A surprising cause of back pain and diffculty walking
Öz: Karsinoid tümörler enterokromafin hücrelerden köken alan nöroendokrin neoplazmlardır. Hastalığın insidansı yılda 100 000de 1'dir. Karsinoid tümörler genellikle karaciğer, akciğer ve lenf nodlarına metastaz yaparlar. Yakın zamanlı çalışmalarda, kemik metastazı oranının %10 civarında olduğu belirlenmiştir. Bu vaka çalışmasında, sırt ağrısı ve yürüme zorluğu şikayetleri olan ve karsinoid tümör ile ilişkili olduğu saptanmış olan spinal metastazı olan bir hasta bildirmekteyiz.

Öz: Carcinoid tumors are neuroendocrine neoplasms that originate from enterochromaffn cells. The incidence of the disease is 1 per100,000 per year. Carcinoid tumors usually metastasize to the liver, lungs, and lymph nodes. In recent studies, the rate of bonemetastasis was determined to be around 10%. In this case study, we report that a patient s complaints of back pain, diffcultywalking, and spinal metastasis that had been detected were related to carcinoid tumors.
