FİNANSAL SEKTÖR GELİŞİMİ VE İŞSİZLİK: TÜRKİYE ÖRNEĞİ

Öz:
Bu çalışma, finansal sektör gelişimi ve işsizlik arasındaki ilişkiyi Türkiyeörneğinde incelemektedir. 1985-2010 arası dönemde çok değişkenli regresyonanalizi yöntemi kullanarak yapılan çalışma bulgularına göre işsizlik oranıüzerinde finansal sektör göstergesi M2 para arzının gayri safi yurt içi hasılayaoranının işsizliği artırdığı ve özel sektör kredi toplamının gayri safi yurt içihasılaya oranının işsizliği azalttığı tespit edilmiştir. Ayrıca diğer finansal sektörgöstergeleri; piyasa hisse senedi değerinin gayri safi yurt içi hasılaya oranıişsizlik oranını arttırırken, toplam mali varlık stokunun gayri safi yurt içihasılaya oranının işsizliği azalttığı sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Ancak bu ikideğişkenden elde edilen katsayıların işareti genel eğilim hakkında bilgi verse dekatsayı sonuçlarının istatistiksel olarak güvenilir olmadığı görülmektedir

FINANCIAL SECTOR DEVELOPMENT AND UNEMPLOYMENT: THE CASE of TURKEY

Öz:
This study discusses the relationship between the financial sector developmentand the unemployment in the case of Turkey. Using the multivariate regressionanalysis method, it was ascertained that the results showed that money supplyM2/GDP increased the unemployment rate and Market Stock Value/GDPdecreased the unemployment rate in the period of 1985-2010. Additionally,others financial sector indicators; It was reached to the point that, domestic creditto private sector/ GDP and Total Financial Assets/GDP decreased theunemployment rate. Though, the index of coefficient getting from these twovariable give information about the general tendency, it is obvious that theresults of coefficient are not statistically reliable.
