DOĞRUDAN YABANCI YATIRIMLARIN İHRACAT ÜRÜN ÇEŞİTLİLİĞİNE ETKİSİ: GELİŞMEKTE OLAN ÜLKELER ÜZERİNE BİR UYGULAMA

Öz:
Gelişmekte olan ülkelerin ihracat sepetlerinin geleneksel ürün ağırlıklı, sınırlı sayıda ve belirli ürünlerden oluştuğu bilinmektedir. Sepetin dar olması, bu ülke grubunu zaman zaman zor durumda bırakmaktadır. Özellikle dünya piyasalarında meydana gelen dalgalanmalar, bu ülkelerin ihracat gelirlerinde önemli düşüşler meydana getirebilmektedir. Bu durum başta ekonomik olmak üzere birçok problemin ortaya çıkmasına neden olmaktadır. Sorunların üstesinden gelmede en kalıcı çözümlerin başında, ihracat ürün çeşitliliğinin arttırılması gelmektedir. Doğrudan yabancı yatırımlar gelişmekte olan ülkeler açısından yeni sermaye anlamına gelmekte ve tasarruf açığı sorununun giderilmesine katkı sağlamaktadır. Bunun yanında ülkeye gelen yabancı yatırımlar beraberinde getirdikleri bilgi ve beceri, yeni teknolojiler, yeni pazarlama teknikleriyle bu ülkelerin ihracat ürün çeşitliliğinin artırılmasına ciddi katkıda bulunabilirler. Bu çalışmanın amacı, gelişmekte olan ülkelere gelen doğrudan yabancı yatırımlarının ihracat ürün çeşitlendirmesine etkisini incelemektir. Örnekleme, verilerin tamamına ulaşılan 16 ülke dahil edilmiştir. Kukla değişkenli En Küçük Kareler yönteminin kullanıldığı panel veri çalışması sonucunda, doğrudan yabancı yatırımlarının gelişmekte olan ülkelerin ihracat sepetlerindeki çeşitliliği arttırdığı sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.

THE EFFECT OF FOREIGN DIRECT INVESTMENT ON EXPORT PRODUCT DIVERSIFICATION: AN APPLICATION ON DEVELOPING COUNTRIES

Öz:
It is known that the export baskets of developing countries are mainly traditional products and are consist of limited and specific products. That the basket is being narrow puts this country group in a tight spot. Especially fluctuations in world market cause substantial falls in export revenues of these countries. As a consequence of that, many problems mainly the economic problems arise. The most permanent solution while dealing with such kind of problems is primarily to increase the diversification of export products. Foreign direct investments mean new capitals for developing countries and those investments contribute to solve the problem of saving gap. Additionally, that foreign direct investments bringing along with knowledge and skill, new technologies, new marketing techniques can contribute significantly to export diversification of these countries. The aim of this study is to analyse the effect of foreign direct investments to developing countries on export diversification. The sample includes 16 countries, data of which are completely reached. As a result of panel data analysis in which dummy variable least squares method is used, the findings suggest that foreign direct investments significantlyincrease the export diversification basket of developing countries.
