The aim of this research was to determine the opinions of theteachers working in the Special Education Application Centers (MentalRetardation Schools) in Turkey for the programs used in the physicaleducation lesson. In this research, the data were obtained through aninterview form prepared by the researchers. In this direction, five semistructuredquestions were included in the interview form. Computeraided qualitative data analysis was used to analyze the obtained data. Inthe obtained findings; It has been observed that the teachers have fallenin dissidence on the physical education course programs. The games andphysical activities included in the program have been identified asfindings regarding good aspects of the program. Teachers of physicaleducation and sports commented on the lack of material and the physicalimpossibilities of these exercises in the applications in the program.Teachers of physical education and sports commented on the lack ofmaterial and the physical impossibilities of these exercises in theapplications in the program. The organization of activities appropriate tothe levels of students with mental retardation gave the opinion that thereadiness of the students and their individual differences should beconsidered in the programs. The research group included the followingopinions regarding the physical education course program; They providedsuggestions such as the provision of appropriate sporting area,observance of the student's level and readiness in the physical educationprogram, classifications of the lessons according to the student's abilities.As a result, there is great responsibility for school administrations toovercome the physical impossibilities in these educational institutionsand in-service training should be given to teachers in the sense that thefunction of the program is to be increased by the national educationdirectorates.
