Nasopalatine canal and its clinical importance: A review

Öz:
The nasopalatinal canal (NPC) is located in the anterior part of the hard palate and connects the nasal cavity and the oral cavity. These channels include the nasopalatin (insiziv) nerve and the terminal branch of the nasopalatine artery, as well as fibrous connective tissue, fat tissue and small salivary glands. Bone septum can also be seen in NPC. Recently, the number of implants placed in the anterior region has increased due to functional and aesthetic reasons. Therefore, anatomical formations and variations in this region are important to prevent complications in surgical procedures. In this review, the developmental stages, anatomy, morphometric features and cysts of the NPC will be examined in detail.
