Intraosseous Mucoepidermoid Carcinoma of the Jaw: Report of Three Cases
Öz: Mucoepidermoid carcinoma (MEC) is the mostcommon malignant tumor of the salivary glands andis seen most commonly in the parotid gland. Intraosseous MECs can be rarely seen and is mostly detectedin the posterior part of the mandible. This conditioncan be acknowledged as an entity different from salivary gland MECs. In this case series, we delineatedthree patients of intraosseous MEC, two mandibletumors and one maxillary tumor and discussed thediagnostic characteristics and treatment methods ofthis rare entity.

Öz: Mukoepidermoid karsinom (MEK) tükürük bezleri- nin en sık görülen malign tümörüdür ve en sık ola- rak parotis glandda gözükür. Çok nadir olarak MEK intraosseöz yerleşimli olarak görülür. Bu nadir durum en sık mandibulada, mandibulanın posteriorunda, gö- rülür ve tükrük bezi MEK'lerinden tamamen farklı bir antitedir. Bu olgu serisinde ikisi mandibula ve biri maksillada olmak üzere üç intraosseöz mukoepider- moid karsinomlu olguyu sunarken, bu nadir patolo- jinin tanı kriterleri ve tedavi yöntemlerini gözden geçiridik.
