DUYGU DÜZENLEME SÜREÇLERİ VE ALEKSİTİMİ ARASINDAKİ İLİŞKİDE BELİRSİZLİĞE TAHAMMÜLSÜZLÜĞÜN ARACI ROLÜ

Öz:
Bu araştırmanın amacı, duygu düzenleme süreçleri ile aleksitimi arasındaki ilişkide belirsizliğe tahammülsüzlüğün aracı rolünü incelemektir. Çalışmanın katılımcıları Alanya Alaaddin Keykubat Üniversitesinin 168’i Eğitim Fakültesi, 93’ü Mühendislik Fakültesi, 86’sı İşletme Fakültesinde öğrenim görmekte olan toplam 347 üniversite öğrencisinden oluşmaktadır. Katılımcıların 181’i (%52.2) kız, 166’sı (%47.8) erkektir.

THE MEDIATOR ROLE OF INTOLERANCE OF UNCERTAINTY ON THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN EMOTION REGULATION PROCESSES AND ALEXITHYMIA

Öz:
The purpose of this study is to investigate the mediating role of intolerance of uncertainty on the relationships between emotion regulation procesess and alexithymia. The participants were 168 in Faculty of Educational Sciences, 93 in Faculty of Engineering and 86 in Faculty of Management totally 347 college students. Of the participants, 181 (52.2 %) were female and 166 (47.8 %) were male. Participants were between ages 17-27, and the participants’ mean age was 20.5. Data were collected by using the Emotion Regulation Processes Scale, Toronto Alexithymia Scale and Intolerance of Uncertainty Scale. In this study, Confirmatory Factor Analysis was used for every three scales calculating relationships between observed and latent variables. The study was based on intolerance of uncertainty play mediator role on the relationships between emotion regulation processes and alexithymia. Accordingly it was set a model to test is whether intolerance of uncertainty play mediator role on the relationships between emotion regulation processes and alexithymia and based on a theory. Under the lights of the literature, results obtained from the study were discussed and some suggestions were offered for future research.
