An investigation on algorithm aided BIM approaches to increase collaboration and optimisation in project phase: A case study

Öz:
There is a need for new workflow that comes with Algorithm Aided BIM tobe used and modified by different users within business association. If efficiencyof new workflow is valid only limited users, automation provided in the projectdoesn’t fully ensure the reduction of stress because of extensive labor and limitedtime. For this purpose, it is aimed to create a cooperative working environmentfor users, who have different programing knowledge level, in the new workflowlike BIM. In the present case, there aren’t comprehensive studies because of thatit is aimed to prepare an approach plan for standardisation of new workflow inorder to spread the usage among the employees and to provide comprehensiveoptimisation in the project phases. The approach is tested with a case study toshow the effects on a project phase. As a result of the analysis, it is concluded thatalgorithms reduce the tension arising from the heavy workload in the projectingprocess but for the comprehensive optimisation, algorithm is not sufficient. Algo-rithm should be standardized to increase the company-wide usage, reduce the de-pendence of users on each other and pauses, caused by lack of information. In theabsence of standards, in spite of being able to optimize, it is monopolized by thelimited user and it is difficult for new users to understand and adapt. Therefore, inaddition to the algorithms, used to reduce stress due to heavy workload and timeloss during the projecting phase, the use of a common language or standards arenecessity for companies.
