Merhamet Yorgunluğu ve Yönetici Hemşirenin Rolü

Öz:
Sağlık profesyonellerinin, hastaların yaşadıkları travma ve acıya merhamet göstermeleri, hizmet verirken empatikurmaları ve hastaların yaşadıkları travmalara uzun süre maruz kalmaları merhamet yorgunluğunun yaşanmasınaneden olmaktadır. Hemşirelik bakımının bedeli olarak da belirtilen merhamet yorgunluğunun en ağır yaşandığımesleklerden biri hemşireliktir. Hemşirelerde merhamet yorgunluğunun fiziksel, duygusal, sosyal, zihinsel ve manevialanda birçok belirtileri ortaya çıkmaktadır. Merhamet yorgunluğu yaşayan hemşirenin bakım verme isteği, becerisive enerjisi azalmakta, bu durum da tıbbi hataların artmasına, hasta memnuniyetinde azalmalara ve meslektenayrılmalarda önemli bir neden olarak gösterilmektedir. Bu nedenle merhamet yorgunluğuna yönetici hemşireleringereken önem vermesi, merhamet yorgunluğunu önlemek için acil önlemler alması ve destek programları oluşturmasıgerekmektedir. Bu makalede, yönetici hemşirelerin farkındalığını arttırmak amacıyla, merhamet yorgunluğununtanımı ve etkileri ile hemşirelikteki öneminin yanı sıra merhamet yorgunluğu sürecinde yönetici hemşireninrolüne değinilmiştir.

Compassion fatigue and The Role of The Nurse Manager

Öz:
Health professionals’ compassion for the trauma and pain that patients experiencing, developing empathy and prolonged exposing to the traumas experienced by the patients lead to compassion fatigue. Nursing is one of the professions experiencing severe compassion fatigue. A lot of psychical emotional/psychological and social symptoms of compassion fatigue arises among nurses. Caregiving willingness, skills, and energy of the nurses experiencing compassion fatigue decrease, that are blamed for increases in malpractices, decrease on patient satisfaction, and releases among nurses Therefore, nurse managers should give due importance to it, and programs for avoiding and treatment of compassion fatigue should be created. In this article , nurse manager’s role on compassion fatigue; definition, effects and importance of it on nursing care has been discussed in order to increase awareness about compassion fatigue of the nurses.
