Mobile Learning Acceptance: A Systematic Literature Review

Öz:
As mobile devices and applications started to support educational activities, mobile learning (m- learning) has emerged and become a new research field in education domain. Adoption and acceptance of m-learning by the end users are important in terms of exploiting its several advantages. There are many studies focusing on the factors affecting acceptance of m-learning in the literature. This study aims to provide a comprehensive review of the m-learning acceptance studies in the literature to identify the factors that affect acceptance of m-learning. This study also aims to identify the effective theories in predicting acceptance of m-learning. A systematic review procedure was designed and executed to identify and review the relevant studies. 51 studies obtained with the systematic review procedure were investigated in terms of their sample groups, theoretical background, the factors affecting m-learning acceptance and the relations between these factors. In total, 106 different factors were identified within the context of conducted researches and which were grouped under 12 dimension of m-learning acceptance and adoption. Also the relations between these factors were reviewed and total 222 validated relations were identified. The relations between perceived usefulness and behavioral intention, perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use and behavioral intention has the most statistically sound results and they are the three most studied ones among these relations.
