Öz:

Kimlik, kavramsal ve kuramsal içerimleri zengin bir olgudur. Bu yazıda kimliği ele alan farklısosyal psikolojik adresleri değerlendirmek amaçlanmaktadır. Bu amaçla, (i) Yaşar Kemal’in‘Süpürge’ isimli öyküsündeki Veli karakterinin kimlik oluşumunu izleyerek sosyal psikolojidekimlik okumaları için açıklamalar üretilmiş; (ii) karşılaştırmalı bir kritik ile sosyal boyutuüzerinde durulmuş ve (iii) genel ölçekte bir edebi eseri inceleme nesnesi yaparak sosyalpsikoloji ile edebiyat arasında bağ kurmaya çalışılmıştır. Açıklama düzeyleri, epistemolojiktemeller, akışkanlık/durağanlık, disiplinlerarasılık, keşfedicilik/inşa edicilik ve tarafsızlığakarşı sosyo-politik angajman konuları kimliğin sosyal psikolojik açılımlarında ‘sosyal’ianlamlandırmak üzere ‘muğlak standartlar’ olarak değerlendirilmiştir. Kimliğe ilişkin sosyalpsikolojik yaklaşımlar, bu sabit addedilemeyecek kıstaslara göre sosyal veya asosyal açıklamadüzeyinde olabilmektedir. Yazının son kısımda, kimliği ele alan sosyal psikolojik adreslerdekiortaklık fikri üzerine ve öykü karakteri Veli’nin ötesinde toplumsal bağlama yönelik tartışmalaryer almaktadır.

Social Psychological Explanations and Critiques about Identity: Meta-Theoretical Evaluations of Identity Phenomenon in the Case of a Story of Yasar Kemal

Öz:

Identity is a rich phenomenon as conceptual and theoretical content. In this paper, it is aimed to evaluate different social psychological addresses about the identity. For this purpose, (i) the identity formation of the character of Veli in the story of Yasar Kemal’s ‘Supurge’ was followed to make explanations for identity readings in social psychology; (ii) the dimensionof social was elaborated with a comparative critique and (iii) through the analysis of a literary work, it was tried to establish a link between social psychology and literature in general scale. Levels of explanation, epistemological foundations, fluidity or stability, interdisciplinarity, being discovered or constructed, and socio-political engagement against neutrality have been evaluated as ‘uncertain criterions’ for social psychological approaches in identity. Social psychological approaches to identity can be at the level of social or asocial explanation according to these criteria which cannot be considered constant. In the last part of the article, the “the idea of common denominator” in social psychological addresses for identity phenomenon and the social context beyond Veli who is the story character were discussed.
