Eğitim Psikolojisi Açısından Merak: Genel Bir Değerlendirme
Merak insanın önemli özelliklerinden biridir. Onu harekete geçirir ve davranışlarını yönlendirir. Bu yüzden hem felsefeciler hem de eğitimciler merak konusuna eğilmişlerdir. Literatür incelendiğinde merakla ilgili tanımların birbirlerine benzer olduğu görülmektedir. Merak denildiği zaman yeni, belirsiz ve karmaşıklık terimlerinin yanı sıra ilgi, deneyim arama arzusu, keşfetme de beraberinde gelmektedir. Bu çalışmanın amacı merak konusunda ortaya atılan kuramları ve ilgili kavramları gözden geçirerek, merakın ölçülmesi çalışmalarını özetlemektir. Bu amaçla dürtü kuramı ve bilişsel yaklaşım özetlenmiş ve değerlendirilmiştir. Ardından merakı ölçmek için geliştirilen ölçme araçları tanıtılmıştır. Merakı açıklamaya çalışan kuramlar henüz tatmin edici bir noktaya gelememiş ise de, geliştirilmiş olan ölçekler merak konusunun önümüzdeki zaman içinde araştırılmaya devam edeceğini göstermektedir.
