Twenty Years of Winter Tourism Literature: Bibliometric Analysis of SSCI-Indexed Tourism Journals

Twenty Years of Winter Tourism Literature: Bibliometric Analysis of SSCI-Indexed Tourism Journals
Öz: The purpose of this study is to determine the development of winter tourism literature during thelast 20 years. The articles (n=292) published in SSCI-indexed tourism journals between 1997 and2016 were reviewed with bibliometric techniques. Findings demonstrated that the mostinvestigated main themes were destination marketing and sustainability, most studies wereconducted with primary data, and secondary data usage increased in recent years. Countries suchas the USA and Canada, institutions such as the University of Innsbruck and Mid-SwedenUniversity, journals such as Scandinavian Journal of Hospitality and Tourism and TourismManagement, and authors such as Martin Falk and Peter Fredman were prominent.
