Sağlık Bilimleri Bölümlerinde Okuyan Üniversite Son Sınıf Öğrencilerinin Kariyer Kararı Verme Yetkinliğinin Belirlenmesi

Sağlık Bilimleri Bölümlerinde Okuyan Üniversite Son Sınıf Öğrencilerinin Kariyer Kararı Verme Yetkinliğinin Belirlenmesi
Öz: Amaç: Bu araştırma, sağlık bilimleri bölümlerinde öğrenim gören son sınıf üniversite öğrencilerinin kariyer kararı verme yetkinliği düzeyini belirlemek amacıyla yapıldı. Gereç ve Yöntemler: Araştırma, Ekim 2017Ocak 2018 tarihleri arasında tanımlayıcı kesitsel tasarımda gerçekleştirildi. Araştırma, 2017-2018 öğretim yılında bir devlet üniversitesinin sağlık bilimleri, tıp, eczacılık ve diş hekimliği fakültelerinde öğrenim gören 523 öğrenci ile tamamlandı. Araştırmanın verileri, Tanıtıcı Bilgi Formu ve Kariyer Kararı Verme Yetkinlik Ölçeği ile toplandı. Verilerin analizinde, SPSS 23.0 programı kullanılarak; sayı ve yüzdelik dağılımlar, ölçek puan ortalamaları, bağımsız gruplarda t-testi, ANOVA varyans analizi ve Tukey HSD testi kullanıldı. Bulgular: Araştırmaya katılan öğrencilerin; %67,9’unun sağlık bilimleri fakültesi, %70,4’ünün kadın öğrenci ve yaş ortalamalarının 23 olduğu belirlendi. Öğrencilerin %60,7’si okuduğu bölümden memnun olduğunu, %50,3’ü öğrenim gördüğü bölümü iş bulma olanağının yüksek olması nedeni ile tercih ettiğini, %55,6’sı kariyere ilişkin bilgisinin olduğunu, %60,2’si gelecekte kariyer geliştirme planlarının olduğunu, %58,5’i kariyere yönelik danışmanlık ve eğitime ihtiyaç duyduklarını belirtmiştir. Araştırmaya katılan öğrencilerin Kariyer Kararı Verme Yetkinlik Ölçeği (KKVYÖ)’nden aldıkları toplam puan ortalamalarının orta düzeyin üzerinde (152,06±28,76) olduğu saptandı. Öğrencilerin KKVYÖ puan ortalamaları ile cinsiyet, okuduğu bölümden memnun olma, kariyer geliştirme ve planlamaya ilişkin bilgiye sahip olma durumu arasında anlamlı farkın olduğu, ancak öğrencilerin öğrenim gördüğü fakülte/bölüm, gelecekte kariyer planı düşüncesi, kariyer planlamasına yönelik eğitim ya da danışmanlığa ihtiyaç duyma durumu ile KKVYÖ puan ortalamaları arasında anlamlı farkın olmadığı saptandı. Sonuç: Sağlık bilimleri bölümlerinde öğrenim gören son sınıf üniversite öğrencilerinin kariyer kararı verme yetkinlikleri orta düzeyin üzerindedir.
Anahtar Kelime: Determining Career Decision-Making Competence of Senior-Level University Students Studying in the Health Sciences Departments
Öz: Objective: This research was conducted to determine the level of career decision making competence of senior university students studying in health science departments. Material and Methods: The survey was conducted in descriptive and cross-sectional design between October 2017-January 2018. The research has been completed with 523 students studying at one state university faculty of health sciences, medicine, pharmacy and dentistry in students 2017-2018 academic year. The data of the study were collected by using the Personal Information Form and Career Decision-Making Self Efficacy Scale. The collected data were evaluated with SPSS 23.0 statistical package programs in computer environment. In the evaluation of the data; frequency and percentage distribution, descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA variance analysis and Tukey HSD test were used. Results: It has been to be of the students who participated in the survey, 67.9% were in the faculty of health sciences, 23 in average. It has been founded who participated 60.7% of the students were satisfied with their departments and %50.3 of the students the department they are studying has a high percentage of finding a job and 55.6% information about career. It has been determined that 60.2% of the students think that they have career development and career plans in the future and 58.5% think they need counselling or training for career development and planning. The students who participated in the survey had a median level (152.06±28.76) of the total points they got from the Career Decision-Making Self-Efficacy Scale (CDSS). There was a significant difference between the average scores of the gender of the students, satisfaction level of the department, career development and career plan; however the education and consultancy for career development and planning, career development and planning in the future, the faculties and departments where the students learn there was no significant difference between the need for thinking and the CDSS point averages. Conclusion: It has been determined that senior-level university students studying in the health sciences departments are above the mid-level of career decisionmaking competence.
