ENFLASYON VE İŞSİZLİĞİN YOKSULLUK ÜZERİNDEKİ ETKİSİ: TÜRKİYE DÜZEY-1 BÖLGELERİ ÖRNEĞİ

ENFLASYON VE İŞSİZLİĞİN YOKSULLUK ÜZERİNDEKİ ETKİSİ: TÜRKİYE DÜZEY-1 BÖLGELERİ ÖRNEĞİ
Öz: Enflasyon, işsizlik ve yoksulluk ülkelerin sosyo-ekonomik gelişimlerini etkileyen önemli iktisadi bileşenlerdir. Bu iktisadi bileşenler Türkiye’nin uzun zamandır mücadele verdiği alanlar olması dolayısıyla, bu çalışmada bu üç etkenin bölgesel karşılaştırmalarının yapılması ve aralarındaki ilişkiye dair bölgesel farklılıkların ortaya çıkarılması amaçlanmaktadır. Bu bağlamda enflasyon ve işsizliğin yoksulluk oranı üzerindeki etkisine ilişkin Türkiye’nin alt bölgelerine ait 2006-2016 yılları için elde edilen veriler göz önünde bulundurularak bir panel veri analizi yapılmıştır. Elde edilen bulgulardan, uzun dönemde enflasyonun yoksulluk üzerindeki etkisinin negatif, işsizliğin ise pozitif olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Başka bir deyişle, uzun dönemde enflasyon artışlarının yoksulluğu azalttığı, işsizliği ise artırdığı ifade edilebilmektedir. Kısa dönemde ise, enflasyonun yoksulluk üzerindeki etkisi bölgesel anlamda pozitife dönmektedir. Bu sonuç, kısa dönemde enflasyon artışlarının yoksulluğu artırdığını göstermektedir.

Öz: Inflation, unemployment and poverty are important economic components affecting the socio-economic development of countries. Since Turkey has been in a long-time field of struggle, this study aims to reveal the regional differences according to regional comparisons of the relation of these three factors. In this context, a panel data analysis are carried out considering the data obtained for the years 2006-2016 belonging to the sub-regions of Turkey regarding the effects of inflation and unemployment on poverty rates. The findings show that in the long run, the effect of inflation on poverty is negative and that of unemployment is positive. In other words, it can be stated that inflation increases in the long run have decreased poverty and unemployment has increased. In the short term, the impact of inflation on poverty is positive in the regional sense. This result shows that inflation increases in the short term increase poverty.
