LAWS AND SOURCE OF LAWS IN PLATO

Öz:
The way of thinking that belongs to Sophists and their positions that make concepts suspicious causes to a big problem for Socrates and Plato who come after them. It seems that Sophists look at the concepts with suspicion and undermine them, while Socrates and Plato try to establish them on solid foundations. In such an atmosphere, it is intriguing how Plato grounds the political order. Undoubtedly, one of the most important divisions of the order in question is the formation of laws. Since the political order shaped by Plato is formed with a constitutional scheme, it should be significant to examine the laws that constitute it. Moreover, determining the qualifications of the legislator is of great importance. In this context, the purpose of this article is to determine the laws and its sources and to shed light on the qualifications of the legislator.
