Is it possible to teach and learn restoration and conservation from a distance? Perhaps we shouldfirst answer the question that is the basis of all logic on art teaching: what conditions must existin order to teach or learn art? Is art education different from other forms of knowledge? These areimportant questions to understand how different arts education is compared to other fields. If wethink that art is the union of human hand, head and heart, we can at least say that we can defi nitely teach how to coordinate talent, thought and feeling. Of course, talent can be an importantcornerstone of this field, but the most important thing is to create the necessary conditions forthe training and processing of this talent. Institutions providing restoration education have not established education with the distan ce education system in terms of its curriculum and scope. The structure of these educationalinstitutions is generally formed by the combination of different disciplines such as the use andexperience of different types of materials, laboratory studies and physics and chemistry.Institutions that provide the education of restoration have never considered offering distan ce learning due to their characteristic structures. The didactic heart of these institutions wasformed not only by the theoretical-scientific disciplines, but also by the laboratories - studioswhere material is shaped, reproduced, reused, and are the most important part of the contactand physical relationship with the material.
