François Truffaut’nun “Les Quatre Cents Coups” Filminin Erken Dönem Nesne İlişkileri Bağlamında Bir İncelemesi

Öz:

Bu çalışma, Yeni Dalga akımının en önemli temsilcilerinden François Truffaut’nun 1959 yılında çektiği ilk uzun metrajlı filmi olan Les Quatre Cents Coups filmine psikanalitik bir bakış sunmayı amaçlamaktadır. Filmin baş kahramanı Antoine Doinel 13 yaşında, okulu asan, hırsızlık yapan, yalan söyleyen bir ergendir. Bu inceleme kapsamında öncelikle psikanalitik kuramda ergenlik döneminden söz edilmiş; ergenin içinden geçtiği değişim süreci ve bunun ergenin ruhsallığı üzerindeki etkileri ele alınmıştır. Daha sonra, Antoine Doinel’in bu dönemde yaşadığı zorlukların ve eyleme dökme davranışlarının erken dönem yaşantılarıyla olan ilişkileri filmden sahneler ile birlikte Winnicott, Bion ve Klein’ın kuramları temel alınarak incelenmiştir. Bu bağlamda, erken dönem nesne ilişkilerindeki problematiklerin ergenlik dönemindeki çatışmalara olan etkileri ele alınmıştır. Aynı zamanda, Les Quatre Cents Coups filmi yarı-otobiyografik bir niteliğe sahiptir. Bu nedenle, Antoine Doinel’in incelemesinin akabinde yönetmen François Truffaut’nun yaşam öyküsüne de değinilmiştir. Buradan yola çıkarak ergenlik dönemi ve yaratıcılık arasındaki ilişki incelenmiş ve Truffaut’nun yaratıcı çalışmalarının temeli yine psikanalitik kuram temel alınarak yorumlanmıştır.

An Analysis of François Truffaut's Les Quatre Cents Coups in the Context of Early Object Relations

Öz:

This study aimed to provide a psychoanalytic perspective to the first feature film, Les Quatre Cents Coups, which was shot in 1959 by François Truffaut, one of the most important representatives of the New Wave movement. The protagonist of the movie, Antoine Doinel, is a 13-year-old teenager who skips school, steals, and lies. Within the scope of this analysis, first of all, the psychoanalytic theory of adolescence was described. The process of change that the adolescents goes through and its effects on their mental structure were discussed. Afterwards, the relationships between the difficulties and acting out behaviors of Antoine Doinel and his early experiences were examined based upon Winnicott, Bion and Klein’s theories, together with the scenes from the movie. In this context, the effects of problematic early object relations on conflicts of adolescence were discussed. Besides, Les Quatre Cents Coups is a semiautobiographical movie. Therefore, following Antoine Doinel's analysis, the life history of the director François Truffaut was explained. From this point of view, the relationship between adolescence and creativity was examined and the foundation of Truffaut's creative work was interpreted on the basis of psychoanalytic theory.
