Topical negative pressure (TNP) can be described as a nor invasive method of controlled and localized negative pressw application over acute and chronic wounds to accelera healing. TNP has recently gained popularity and is now use extensively as an alternative option for treatment of acute ar, chronic wounds. In this study, 50 cases who have received TNP from the Chron Wound Center of our clinic have been presented. Wounc treated with TNP displayed significant shrinkage, accelerate granulation tissue formation and decreasedwoundsecretio, Pre-treatment and post-treatment average wound surfac areas were 116,1 cm2 (13,1-615,5 cm2) and 87,3 cm2 (10/ 424,4 cm2), respectively. Average duration of treatment we 12,4 days (7-21 days). Average wound size reduction followh treatment was 23,0 % (15,8 %-41,3 %). By increasing loa perfusion, facilitating granulation tissue formation, ar, controlling oedema and exudation, and thus acceleratir wound healing, TNP proved to be a good treatment optic for preparing a wound to surgery.
