This paper investigates the major characteristics of Corrective discourse relations in Turkish. The data source is METU Turkish Discourse Bank, a ~400,000-word corpus of contemporary written Turkish. The paper suggests that Corrective discourse relations are unambiguously inferred from the adjacency of a negative and a positive clause. Certain connectives like tersineon the contrary and bilakis far from it also express the corrective sense but they are polysemous, conveying both correction and contrast. The paper points out the role of Contrastive discourse relations in understanding corrective discourse and shows how pragmatic inferences function in interpreting corrections.
