Sağlıklı Çocuklarda Herpes Zoster: Retrospektif Bir Çalışma
Öz: Amaç: Herpes zoster, varisella zoster virüsünün reaktivasyonu ile oluşan akut dermatomal viral bir enfeksiyondur. İleri yaş ve immün sistemi baskılanmış kişilerde sık görülürken, sağlıklı çocuklarda nadirdir. Çalışmamızın amacı, herpes zoster tanısı alan sağlıklı çocukların klinik özelliklerini, tedavi ve komplikasyonlarını değerlendirmektir.Yöntemler: Kliniğimizde Ocak-Aralık 2014 yılları arasında herpes zoster tanısı alan 0-16 yaş arası 31 hasta; yaş, cinsiyet, başvurduğu ay, şikayet, geçirilmiş suçiçeği öyküsü veya suçiçeği aşısı, tetikleyici faktörler, dermatomal tutulum, komplikasyonlar ve tedavi açısından geriye dönük olarak değerlendirildi.Bulgular: Herpes zoster tanısı alan 31 hastadan 19'u erkek (%61,3), 12'si kız (%38,7) idi. Yaş ortalaması 9,12±4,4 yıl idi. Yirmi hastada torakal (%64,5), 6 hastada lomber (%19,4) ve 5 hastada servikal (%16,2) tutulum vardı. En sık yakınma sırasıyla kaşıntı ve ağrı idi. Olguların 6'sına topikal, 25'ine sistemik ve topikal tedavi verildi. Komplikasyon gözlenmedi.Sonuç: Herpes zoster, günümüzde sağlıklı çocuklarda da artan oranlarda görülmektedir. İyi seyirlidir ve genellikle komplikasyon gelişmez. Görülme sıklığı; aşılama programları gibi bölgesel ve sosyoekonomik farklılıklar nedeniyle değişkenlik gösterebilir.

Herpes Zoster in Healthy Children: A Retrospective Study
Öz: Objective: Herpes zoster is an acute dermatomal viral infection caused by the reactivation of varicella zoster virus. While it is commonly seen among elderly and immunocompromised individuals, it is rare in healthy children. The aim of this study was to evaluate the clinical features, treatment and complications of healthy children with herpes zoster.Methods: Thirty one patients aged between 0-16 years who were admitted to our clinic with the diagnosis of herpes zoster, between January 2014 and December 2014, were evaluated retrospectively for age, gender, month of admission, complaint, history of chickenpox infection or varicella vaccination, triggering factors, dermatomal involvement, complications and treatment.Results: Among 31 patients with diagnosis of herpes zoster, 19 were boys (61.3%) and 12 were girls (38.7%). The mean of age was 9.12±4.4 years. Twenty patients had thoracic (64.5%), six had lumbar (19.4%) and five had cervical involvements (16.2%). The most frequent symptoms were pruritus and pain, respectively. Six patients were administered topical treatment and 25 patients were treated with both systemic and topical treatments. Complication was not observed.Conclusion: Herpes zoster is also being encountered increasingly in healthy children nowadays. It is benign and generally no complications are observed. Incidence can vary because of geographic and socioeconomic differences like vaccination programs.
