The Effect of Cultural Heritage Education on Students' Attitudes toward Tangible Heritage

Öz:
Bu araştırmanın amacı, ilköğretim 6. sınıf sosyal bilgiler dersinde miras eğitiminin öğrencilerin somut kültürel mirasa karşı tutumlarına etkisini incelemektir. Araştırma, öntest-sontest kontrol gruplu yarı deneysel desende tasarlanmıştır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubu 6. sınıf öğrencilerinden oluşmuştur. Çalışma grubunda, deney grubunda 38 ve kontrol grubunda 38 olmak üzere toplam 76 öğrenci yer almıştır. Araştırmanın verileri somut kültürel miras tutum ölçeği kullanılarak toplanmıştır. Verilerin analizinde SPSS 18.0 paket programı kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın bulgularına göre, deney ve kontrol grubu öğrencileri denel işlemler öncesi somut kültürel mirasa yönelik olumlu tutuma sahiptir. Uygulama sonunda ise kontrol grubu öğrencilerinin somut kültürel mirasa yönelik tutumlarında olumlu bir artış görülmezken, deney grubu öğrencilerinin tutumlarında olumlu bir artış olmuştur. Bu bulgulara dayalı olarak, sosyal bilgiler dersinde miras eğitiminin öğrencilerin somut kültürel mirasa karşı tutumlarını olumlu yönde etkilediği söylenebilir

Öz:
The aim of the current study was to investigate the effects of heritage education during the 6thgrade elementary school social studies course on the pupils' attitudes toward tangible heritage. A quasiexperimental design was used to collect pre-test and post-test data from both an experimental and a control group. The 6th grade students formed the sample of the study. A total of 76 students participated in the study, with 38 constituting the experimental group and 38 constituting the control group. Data were derived from a tangible cultural heritage attitude scale. SPSS 18.0 packet program was used for the analysis of data. According to the findings of the data analysis, it was observed that the participants' attitudes toward tangible cultural heritage were affected positively
